    Underpaid, Overworked, Undervalued
The good thingsHousing allowance, medical claim, limited dental claim
The challengesMost challenges stem from internal politics in Sarawak Technology projects, which heavily influence decisions and priorities. Management often doesn’t genuinely listen to staff, especially junior employees. Although the company claims to use Agile Scrum, work is still done like a waterfall system because projects follow quarterly and yearly contracts. Mandays are used to force everyone to work at least 7 hours daily, making the system rigid and stressful. Salaries are far below market rate — fresh graduates may earn around RM2,900 while similar roles elsewhere pay about RM6,000, less than 80% of market value. KPIs are strict and often favor middle management, while junior staff are blamed when problems arise. Divisions work in silos, training opportunities are limited for juniors, and fresh graduates frequently handle multiple roles while managers avoid accountability, leading to stress, low motivation, and limited career growth.

Fake Agile, no real support, always stress and burnout, not recommend.
The good thingsTeam colleagues very friendly and help each other. I learn some skills from peer sharing. Even resources not enough, we try to help each other and finish work.
The challengesManagement focus only on save money, not give enough people or tools. Scrum only for show, Agile not real, we not get support we need. Decisions hide in top, we always wait and work extra hours. Hardware, software, manpower all not enough, sometimes we must buy own or wait long. Team burnout and stress very high, no proper help from leaders.

Unforgettable chapter in my life and grateful to be part of the growth of Sarawak’s digitalization.
The good thingsGained experience being a customer support and interact with customers to solve technical issues. I was welcomed warmly by the staff and teammates.
The challengesAs an intern, we should be provided with clear instructions and regular feedback to students especially when they are assigned complex tasks.

The only thing "agile" here is how quickly priorities change.
The good thingsYou’ll build things that look great on a CV — even if you’re the only one doing the actual building.
The challengesAgile turned into a buzzword excuse to skip proper planning. There's no real backlog grooming — just rushed sprint planning with unprioritized stories. You’ll juggle bug fixes, new features, and patch requests all in the same sprint. Team velocity is punished, not improved.

A company with good benefits and bad cultureOne of the worst company I have ever worked in, in terms of leaderships and communication. Employee benefits are indeed great, but no amount of money can compensate your mental health working with bosses who called themselves leaders but lacked empathy. When real issues were raised, they just keep silent, avoid, choose favouritism, sabotage the true stories, sweep problems under the rugs to protect themselves from being exposed. Full of narcisist senior coworkers who do not know what teamwork is and what a good communication look like, felt challenged/insecure when younger generations / new joiners are more capable & hardworking than them, being freeriders riding on hardworkers and get away from it. Instead of inovating and honour integrity (ironically two of the company's core values), bosses stop you from performing while allowing those seniors to get away without contributing to the team.

This role provided valuable exposure to large-scale public sector software and strengthened my technical foundation for future work in AI-integrated systems and smart web platforms.
The good thingsGained hands-on experience in full-stack web development, contributing to front-end and back-end tasks across the project lifecycle.
The challengesLearned and worked with internal development tools, including enterprise tools such as TortoiseSVN for version control, OpenVPN for secure remote access, and Postman for API testing and integration.

If you’re a fresh graduate, this could be a good starting point to gain experience. But if you’re looking for fast promotions or a big salary jump, you might want to explore other options after gaining some experience here.
The good thingsHave medical and dental coverage, insurance, and even housing and car loans.
The challengesPromotions are rare. Runs top down management. Unable to speak out and listened to opinion. Always micromanaged. Unrealistic workload. Work-life balance is not available. The basic salary is on the lower side compared to industry standards. Low increment. Have office politics and play favoritism.

Not recommended if you are someone who works hard
The good thingsColleagues are good and willing to help each others. It's a good place if you would want to settle down and slow down. The company will never fire you.
The challengesProject Managing kills the developers. Always accept new request during UAT hence endless delay in timeline and made the whole team suffer. Less opportunity to get promotion.

Good for fresh grad, but no career development
The good thingsGreat place for fresh grad to kick start career, but dont expect to learn from senior and being expect to be given training related to the job. Need to have your own initiative, if not you wont learn anything.
The challengesUnsupportive environment, after few years, i cant seems to see my self moving on to the next step. no career development. Stuck doing the same job for 3 years. Cant be sure for other department. But grateful for the opportunity

The challengesDepend on bos especially the lucky one . Not to mention challenging . I am working so hard but still low in salary. Even the groceries and oil is very high. Not to mention the claim is slow. Demand the high salary will be ignored. Going somewhere to attend the customer case but oil claim is slow.

The good things- Peers are awesome. - Clients are awesome - Pay is just mediocre. Does not reflect experience level. But it is, sadly Sarawak rate, not market rate.
The challenges- Growth - Pay, since it is a Government-owned company, should have a higher standard for pay, but no. - Age-old politics/drama. Keep your head low and you'll be fine.

The good thingsProviding training and assessment to ensure our skill is progressively growing. Periodically having company engagement to tighten bond between staff and company.

At least the montly sallary padydate is fixed.
The good thingsThe company provide almost everything that you need.
The challengesNot really a challenges more to downside of the company. 1. Does not matter either you perform of not, at the end of the day, your salary still the same with the one who did not. 2. No code review. 3. No mentorship 4. Still adding feature even it reaches due date 5. Poor time management while handling the project 6. Working solo on almost every project. If you have any other choices, consider them unless you have nowhere to go to.

Extremely Backwards for a Tech Company
The good things- Salary is at least punctual, if ever unchanging. - Free to use whatever approach/lang you please - Nice people. But few good programmers. - Apparently flexible in hours. - Many projects, plenty to do.
The challenges- No deadlines... until suddenly there is one. - Way too many projects to person ratio. - Chronically understaffed - No organized approach to projects (think solo projects) - Good people are never together. Surrounded by weak performers. - No strategy - No code reviews. Anything goes. - Performance assessment is a farce. - No mentorship. - Work hard, not smart. - Security is a joke. And a timebomb. - Office politics before real work

Great exposure to a real working experience!
The good thingsMy supervisor is really helpful and friendly to work with. The workload is suitable for my experience and expertise and the staffs are always ready to help. I learn a lot that I cannot learn from the classes.
The challengesIt would be nice to have a specific room for an intern or a cubicle to work instead of sharing with other employees.

sains a very good place for career development
The good thingsYou will have a very good opportunity to learn in such a big company which has involved in many small and big projects ranging from sub-million Ringgit to tens millions Ringgit covering public and private sectors. The company is also exploring business opportunities outside Malaysia and has projects and cooperation in others countries. You got job upgrade, salary adjustment, and good remuneration.
The challengesThe good things mentioned in above also meant a lot of related challenges you need to face. You need to work with people from variety of sections/departments in the company when larger projects are involved. You need to have sufficient knowledge and skills (technical) for you part of work. You also need to learn and improve required job related skills (non-technical).
