Good workplaces for career development and work experienceGood place for career development, They respect you well and train you well if you are new. The salary is very good compared to the others job I have taken. Management: - They would hear your concern, just need a right platform to use, email/ formal meetings and such. Enjoyable part of the job: -They give you time to do the job and trust, without pressuring too much on you. Others would find it is stressful, but with time you will be feel familiarize with the workflow.

Good place to start (with right department) but not good enough to stay (for non academic staff)
The good thingsLess hectic but less work also meant bad things though. you can get demotivated by lack of work and opportunity, let alone bonus, salary increment.
The challengesNeed to "overcome" the YES MAN policy, bosses always right game. No real guidance or training provided You need to strive yourself if you want more attention and career enhancement

The job provided great training opportunities, but the slow salary increase and lack of long-term vision from management made it unbearable.
The good thingsThe company pays on time and overall tries its best not to terminate employees. Another good thing is that the company provides regular training for its employees.
The challengesPolicy tends to change almost every year Management seemingly does not have a long-term or even medium-term vision Management does not listen to its best performers Increase workload but slow to provide increase compensation

    Working Environment
The good thingsLearned and gained knowledge in my field of expertise from senior staffs with years of experiences. Also went the extra mile to explore my talent and capabilities. Enjoyed working with the students in their tertiary education.
The challengesDealing with overflowed foreign lecturers who think (some) they are very smart, efficient and capable. But in reality, all these seem only in word but not in action. Could not bear with their attitude which is different towards various staff members; express a good attitude towards higher ranking staff to please them.

    Fun, Fun and Fun!
The good thingsGreat teamwork and great support from top management. Ten odd years with SEGi was an experience changing towards my education industry career. SEGi belongs top 10 of the industry. We never a starter in every new niche market. We always be a follower but always keeping our toes close to our rivals. Maybe SEGi need to start becoming the market leader for an new market in near future. I need something very new to add to my education career CV's.
The challengesSEGi is in the verge of exploring new market and new identity and brand profiling. Education is a stagnant industry which control too much by policies from government agencies. Need to revamp Ministry future aim and pathway for industry player to maneuver the academic practice and marketing plan. For now Malaysian Education industry, a platform to jump to higher level is very strong, need more enhancement towards the strategy on building our own education brand and image to the world market.
