What’s it like working at Shearwater?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Shearwater appreciate the flexible work environment where they are treated as professionals, as well as the company's willingness to invest in training and provide opportunities for knowledge sharing across segments. The benefits, including opportunities for international travel, are considered top class. Shearwater fosters a friendly, team-oriented culture with a strong focus on safety.

However, some mid-career employees feel there is a lack of a defined career development path compared to those joining straight from university. There are opportunities for management style to be improved, with a focus on short-term projects due to frequent rotations. During downturns, Shearwater has had to lay off employees, which can be a difficult process. Additionally, some employees feel there are too many expatriates in management roles.

The good thingsThe flexibility. The organization is not really focusing on the punch in and punch out time. The office environment is flexible and employee being treat like an adult with set responsibilities.
The challengesAs a mid carrier person joining the company, there is no set development and carrier path like those who joint in fresh from Uni and being provided with a carrier development path. Mid carrier end up being the one who shares their experience but not really recognized by the company.
