Good training ground, but poor managementThe good thingsGood place to get started on learning the ropes in Corporate Banking. Has a mix of local and Japanese MNC clients, and good annual bonus (3-5 months on average even during COVID). Good work-life balance for non-client facing roles. Location is very accessible and office tower elevators' are on the advanced end.
The challengesThe people and work culture needs more attention, almost all senior staff have a condescending attitude towards guiding juniors. Salary increment is slow unless there is a promotion. Career progression is close to nil unless starting in a senior position. There may be no clear direction when management wants to make changes, so staff often end up fumbling and having to go to extra lengths (a week or two) just to get something done, which could be typically settled within 2 days.
