Challenging environment with unclear direction and high turnover
The good thingsHigh pay, flexible working hours.
The challengesThe factory is over 50 years old, with many new changes being pushed through within unrealistic timelines. Top management frequently changes direction, sometimes on a daily basis. Management doesn't fully understand the challenges we have on the production floor and keep pushing to deliver fast. The work environment can be very stressful. The organisation structure is somehow unclear, with overlapping and “flexible” job scopes. High turnover is common, even among senior and managerial positions, leading to poor handovers and a lack of continuity as new hires struggle to keep up.

The company offers high pay, but it comes with high pressure, and most employees are new.
The good thingsCompany pay is quite high.
The challengesOrganization keeps making changes, and people retention is bad. It is hard to work when people keep changing because when people change, the working style also changes, and they keep questioning the process and procedure. There is no proper handover to the next successor, and it is hard to work with a team that is also new. Management doesn’t understand this and keeps pressuring for results.

bang average. not the FMCG that you would want to consider if you want to continue to develop in this industry - please don't waste your talents.
The good thingsGood work-life balance, nothing much to do due to limited budget.
The challengesconstant changes of management's directive, senior leadership comprises of many old-fashioned individuals who are allergic to changes and refusal to adapt to market changes. limited advertising budget, even for the biggest brand - Prego. not a good place for any FMCG marketer looking to make it big, it is a setback with limited employee benefits (no staff purchase, no meal allowances, no travel allowances and basic EPF and AL benefits) - typical cinaman company.

Top management need to buck up to prevent employees from leaving
The good thingsCurrent flexible working hours for the employees
The challengesDirectors most often don't walk the talk & don't even align among each other in a lot of matters. Lots of ambiguity in terms of decision making and management often pass accountability & responsibilities to down line.

An ex Engineering Intern for Summer
The good thingsIts got to be the team dynamics in the department and between department. Everyone here practices effective communication among each other in order to get things done with minimal delays. I was fortunate to be under supervision and trained by experienced people in the industry, always willing to go the extra mile to teach me and a few intern throughout my intern period there.
The challengesLike any other companies, rushing towards deadlines in projects/task is a normal thing. Being involved with multiple roles at any time during my intern period could be overwhelming as an intern, I turned it as a benefit for me to understand that this is how a executive at a particular manufacturing industry works.

    Enriching and Rewarding Experience!
The good thingsCompany is growing year on year. Vast opportunity as well as autonomy to drive meaningful change and make a difference in the organization. Strong team work. Friendly work environment. Result oriented and performance driven. I had internal growth opportunity through role expansion and promotion.
The challengesDue to the accelerated growth the organization is faced with the challenge of evolving at the same rate. The change within the organization is slower than desired. Perseverance is required to drive change.

Good place to earn experience and learn
The good thingsLots of opportunities to grow and shine yourself by setting the right foundation and culture. Campbell Malaysia is a growing company and there are many things can be done to set right the business momentum. For the next few years, there are few key initiatives taken to strengthen the foundation and getting the company ready to be more competitive with other food industry players.
The challengesThere are a lot of young talent to be coach and train along the journey. It require 3 to 5 years to get the right foundation and culture since majority of the management team quite young and having minimum experience especially in food industry.

    QA Department
    Jun 2018
1 to 2 years in the role, current employee
    Good for Learning experience
The good thingsThis company can provide a very good learning experience especially if you are working with QA Department. Experts from US (HQ) and Australia (Regional) will come and give guidance on how to master the process here. Sometimes, learning also can be obtained via online. Immediate manager also can give guidance to you in order for you to gain more knowledge and complete your task. Same goes to the team mate. All of them are willing to guide you to ensure you can complete your task.
The challengesAny companies will have their own challenges. Challenges only happened once in a blue moon and they are only impacted if the challenges are linked with your job scope. However, it can be concurred especially with great support from your manager and team mates.

Will stay in this company longer to see what it have to offer to my career growth
The good thingsVery fast paced, never find myself have nothing to do. So far no politics among sales department, turnover rate is quite low. Reasonable power distance. Basic respect among same dept employees. Haven't been in the company long enough but heard that there are multiple chances of soft-skill training to improve ourselves.
The challengesWeak inter-dept relationships, especially between commercial team and production team. Lack the willingness to understand and respect how other department works, and how inter-dept collaboration can help to drive the business.

You get 0.8 person's pay but do 3 persons' job
The good thingsThe brand. it sounds cool to tell ppl you are working with campbell's soup company. The staff sales. you get cheap products at low price but got to fight for it. Free Company trip. Parties every now and then
The challengesThe pay is really low as compared to your workload. I am referring to QA dept. the turnover is very high. very stressed, the management does not know how to distribute the workload so they hire 1 person to do 3 persons' job. they do not really care whether or not you can handle your job, sometimes even quite unreasonable and demand the work to be done till midnight even if you have your own wedding tomorrow. very high power distance. people are scared of manager, but oppress executives. very very political. even 1 email that you send might turn into an inter-dept war. even between colleagues, there is politics. you wont be able to find friends here, cuz the people are cold and harsh towards each other. career development is bad, for QA dept. there is hardly any promotion or appreciation showed.

The good thingsGaining different skill of new product development in diversified field for instance BBQ sauce, pasta sauce & so on. Participate cost saving project on packaging material evaluation & assist procurement team to evaluate alternative raw material sourcing. Support in country labeling regulation likes Food Act Malaysia, China regulation & etc. Initiate market visit with Sale & Marketing team.
The challengesChallenges to meet the project timeline for new product launch and to meet the cost saving target. Always take into consideration of consumer sensory preference and expectation to meet their need. Lack of sale experience to gather more sales and marketing input to produce high performance prototype for success launch and to achieve the annual sale target to bring organization to even higher level.
