Worse place for achievers, great place for passing time
The good thingsFlexible working hours Eight to three for the lecturer and normal working hour of nine to five thirty for support staff include management. Similar stress level for lecturer, support staff, and top management. Friendly colleagues creating a homelike environment but sometimes may lead to lack professionalism especially for frontline staff in the eyes of customers. Company provide free lunch celebration for all staff during festive seasons throughout whole year and free lunch during weekend work on open day.
The challengesPay is below market value for most of the position including lecturers, support staff, and management. Most staff lack fighting spirit thus definitely not a goal oriented culture. Company culture is on the kiasu or kiasi type where one have to bear full responsibility on idea suggested rather than togetherness. This led to most idea being suppress rather than expressed out. Most achievers left while remains are mostly no where to excel. Growth strategy for the company is hardly achieved given the decision making is wrongly done due to mismatch talent in most of the position in the company. Don't emphasize high hope on bonus and incrememt as achievers are rewarded less than a month and between one to three percent increment for last year. It's pretty normal for settle down staff but not for strivers personality type.
