To provide leadership for the university to be a regional leader in providing quality educationThe good thingsThe University College has strong academic programs in its Medical, Nursing and Allied Health Faculties. These programs are of high demand among school leavers locally and internationally. I have ventured into international market by venturing into collaborations with medical colleges in India to offer Widad MBBS and Nursing programs for international students conducted in India..
The challengesThe location of the university in Kuantan attracts a good number of students for Medical, Nursing and Allied Health programs. Programs in Business, Social Science, IT and Sports Faculties attracts small number of students. Overall, the university finds it tough to achieve financial break even. Secondly the location of the university also does not attract high qualification lecturers. Many staff with PhD leaves the university after serving for a short period of time.
