With inspiring, productive and helpful colleagues
The good thingsMy teammates are always open to new suggestions, ideas and advices. Although they have other ongoing personal tasks, most of the time they are willing to give supports and commitments especially when relating to benefits of our stakeholders i.e. schools, event participants and project partners.
The challengesThe learning curve is steep especially for those who never participate relevant programmes before. You need extra effort to adapt to the working culture and communication style of the team.

    SLT with NO leadership skills
The good thingsConservation teams are very supportive and collaborative. Without clear direction from Conservation Director, the Heads are able to achieve the targets.
The challengesNo clear guidance from the SLT. delayed hiring/replacement without consultation with staff on the ground. It is not our fault if the new CEO is not able to initiate a new fundraising strategy and still rely on paying 90% of donations to the fundraising agency. So many key staff are leaving!

The challengesThe challenge was I need to learn the accounting software system in the short period but I managed to adapt and understand the workflow and able to complete all my task in given time

    a perfect place for conservationist
The good thingsCurrently enjoyed my work here under the new senior leadership team. The new CEO is adapting well and able to handle and manage crisis externally and internally. A place that will definitely helps in conservation-based career growth. Salary wise is ok and annual increment is above the national average with work-life balanced.
The challengesthis is a NGO so, the working style is totally different from corporate world, nearly everything needs staff consultation which is at times a little time consuming. Previous management was quite bad but that was over. Now we look forward to new achievements with the new team.

    Leadership without conservation interest
The good thingsA place to contribute your skills in conservation
The challengesAgreed with the comment below, during MCO until today, not once CEO call Project Leaders to discuss any challenge in conservation during COVID-19 and provide guidance to solve issues

Good team work and passionate people
The good thingsGood team work and full of passionate people in conservation. The current management will “listen deeply” we don’t have warning letter for some ridiculous reasons flying around anymore, now is more to consulting and people to people approach. Current CEO is very open, she will listen to your ideas, issues and will definitely consider your constructive recommendation.

    Opportunity to help mother nature
The good thingsThe opportunity of working with a well known environmental NGO and to contribute my efforts both directly and indirectly to help mother nature is very rewarding. Working with WWF has also moulded me to what I am today.
The challengesA need to realise that the 'battles' are out there and channel our personal previous energies correctly.

    Flexible and Open working environment
The good thingsWWF offers a flexible working environment with and open and collaborative work spaces. The motivation level is high as employees are driven by a higher cause. Clear direction set by the CEO who walks the talk, leads with passion and encourages open communication.
The challengesThe surrounding area needs more attention by MBPJ

The senior management response to the criticism confirms and reinforces all that is being datos
The good thingsStaff at lower levels( the few that are left) still very passionate about role.
The challengesSenior management brought in recently don't have a clue as to what WWF really stands for. Their patronizing was are clear from their response here to the concerns raised. It says it all, uncaring, not really II interested in what people are complaining about, pretending to care ,( ie we take the issues and welcome feedback , when clearly they don’t). The Board needs to think seriously about these new guys, corporate types who are doing these jobs just to please themselves and maybe get a Dato title. CEO does not understand WWF culture and not a team player. I left on time luckily

The good thingsWorking with operation division nothing is good and you get leverage and expandable mostly but working with conservation is totally great!
The challengesMost superior blind folded, he/she will not care your intuitive and effort towards to organization instead they only care for what benefits to themselves instead organization.

A Good Organisation That Could Be Great Again
The good thingsThe teams and people that make up the organisation are a passionate, kind, hardworking group of people. They do this out of the goodness of their soul. They are supportive of each other and try as much as possible to support each other.
The challengesThere is an issue with leadership. Those who should be giving sound advice and directing this shop are not. As a result, this is a ship without a rudder in the storm at the top level. Not all senior leadership are bad leaders. They are just getting bad advice. Many good people have left or are leaving. There seems to be no self-reflection at top level as to why this is so. There is no check and balance as to whether the organisation is really being effective at saving nature. Declarations and news bytes are not good indicators. Are the forests and wildlife safe? Salary levels should match with experience. Not there yet.

    A bitter experience
The good thingsWorking from home opportunities
The challengesThe senior management does not know what they are doing AT ALL. They run around chasing their own tails while expecting everyone to kowtow to them. They are the source of the low productivity and high costs (so many DIRECTORS!!!). They drive the gossip/rumour mill and have poor grasp of the actual work done in the ground.

    Peculiar Management
The good thingsThe trust and flexibility given by the PREVIOUS management.
The challengesThe new management recently setup a new unit called Governance Risk and Compliance. Strange enough, the new unit was set up without following due process, unlike the previous management that always communicate and transparent all decision, especially the big ones with impact to budget (donor money). The new management too are biased, approval for recruitment only for selected favorite department

The good thingsGood team work among staff and open communication with your leaders/supervisors. Interesting and challenging conservation works
The challengesNew Senior Leadership Team is not even better than the last one. Management created risk departement without proper recruitment and no legal background. Staff morale is very low

    Problem with Senior Leadership Team
The good thingsGood team work among staff, it was so nice to know many talented colleagues to share your ideas
The challengesSenior Leadership Team, they don't implement what they preach. They told staff to cut cost but in the other hand, they created new department with their powerful statement "this has been approved by the Board". There were no proper internal recruitment and staff development which make good talents leave the organisation.

    Troubled Senior Leadership Team
The good things-brilliant teams working on the ground. -conservation goals and strategies are well planned, clearly visioned and have wonderful people working on protecting the landscapes they work on. -people in general, are nice. some times have really good supervisors and mentors, such as the one I am working with currently. -the word teamplayer is important, and general staff know how important this is. -they have a work from home policy, that can be better, but it is still something nevertheless.
The challenges-senior leadership does not understand the conservation direction or goals clearly enough, and prefers to make decisions without consulting or informing staff/employees on major changes in direction. -in this time and age, the organisation prefers to practice a more corporate, top down approach (probably due to the fact that most of senior leadership comes from that background). -it is becoming increasingly difficult to have dialogues or open conversations with senior leadership team. -the direction that is being taken now is contradictory to the conservation strategy that has been carefully planned, and therefore stands a chance to actually jeapordise what has been worked on for so long.

    Flexible working environment
The good thingsIt depends which department you are in. Some are good. Friendly colleagues, even CEO, everyone like a family. Very comfortable working environment. Have flexi-working hours, work-from home policy and would provide training to those who needs. Parking always available. Management & HR would listen to your concern and acts accordingly. Work-life balance is best here.
The challengesNo bonus, and low increment caused high turnover. But still better than other ngo. Lack of career growth. Sometimes high workload, depending who you are reporting to.

The best Internship Experience with Turtle Rangers.
The good thingsAble to communicate and deliver messages more effectively to local community. Outreach programs are incredibly awesome as I gained more skills.
The challengesNight duty during beach patrols without rangers are quite dangerous as the beach alone is quite not safe.

    Overall great learning experience.
The good things- Working environment (Office is very well maintained and clean) - Employee benefits (multiple options for taking leave, medical benefits and working-from-home policy) - Staff (friendly, passionate and open-minded colleagues) - Personal development (supervisors/employers allow staff to grow by encouraging them to attend training and provide learning space to be independent)
The challengesNo major challenge. Depending on how you see it, staff are often sent out to do work in the field which sometimes are in rough conditions (terrain).

The working culture here is very good as well, open office style, mobile workplace and a very good pantry (great coffee too!). The knowledge learnt are massive!
