How to become a Sous Chef
At least a diploma is required for the role. Several years of kitchen experience and leadership skills are an advantage.
- 1.Graduate with a diploma or degree in culinary arts, hospitality management, tourism or another related degree.
- 2.Undergo an internship at a commercial kitchen.
- 3.Get an entry-level role such as Commis Chef, progressing to higher roles such as Chef de Partie.
- 4.Consider taking specialisation courses such as pastry, catering or restaurant management.
