What’s it like working at ABC Cooking Studio?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at ABC Cooking Studio appreciate the supportive colleagues and the clear direction provided by management on a monthly basis to help achieve goals. Management is open to feedback and encourages open discussions. The company is considered a good place to start and grow one's career, with opportunities for fast growth. The pay for studio consultants, ranging from 3-4k including commission, is seen as competitive pay for starters. Top performers are given the chance to participate in overseas projects and receive additional allowances. For those passionate about cooking and baking, ABC Cooking Studio provides opportunities to learn and develop skills.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as the expectation to achieve monthly sales targets, which can be demanding. Dealing with demanding customers while working can be stressful, as customer service is highly prioritised. There appears to be a lack of structured training for new employees, who are expected to learn from existing staff. The work environment can be draining and competitive due to the sales-driven nature of the company. Employees have noted that staff benefits are not as good compared to other companies, with fewer claims and lesser annual leave. Additionally, employees are required to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays, following operation labour law.

The good thingsThe colleagues are supportive of each other although everyone have sale target to achieve. It can be stressful to hit sales but the management is clear about every month's direction for us to achieve. Management open to feedbacks and open discussions too. Good place to start to pick up skills and fast growth in career path.
The challengesNeed to achieve the sales KPI each month. Customer service is placed very importantly so it can be quite stressful facing demanding customers while working.

    Negative Atmosphere and Bad Management
The good thingsEnjoyed working with nice colleagues
The challengesThere's no organised training given. If you're new, the existing staff who is the same position as you will tell you how to do things which is what they call as training. There's no strict enforcement on do's and don'ts making all of them to be not discipline and simply follow their own rules. The management only cares about making money and not the well-being of the staff.

A good start for fresh grad!
The good things- The pay for studio consultant range from 3-4k (include commission) which a good pay for starter. - If you hit your sales KPI and be consistent in it, it's easy to rank up. Meaning more money and better pay. - Get the chance to participate in overseas project if you are a top performer. - There are transport and performance allowances. - If you are a chef or someone thats passionate in cooking and baking, these place will give definitely teach you a lot.
The challenges- The staff benefits are not as good compared to other MNC company. Meaning not much benefits provided. Not many claims can be made either. - For a long term career growth is definitely not suitable as the pay gets lower (in average comparison to other MNC company) as you climb up the career ladder. - You work in shift just like any other retail/ operation worker. Meaning you have morning and afternoon shifts. Schedule is not fixed and yes will need to work during weekends and public holidays following operation labour law. - Lesser annual leaves comparing to other company. - Work environment can be very draining and competitive as it is a sales driven company.
