    In 1988, Bagan Specialist Centre, a 153-bedded hospital was built in the midst of a thick, green forest and mangrove along the Prai River. Vision then was be the hospital of choice for the people of Butterworth and its surrounding region.For the last 2 decades, Bagan has progressively grown and fulfilled its vision and mission as a trusted neighbourhood hospital in Butterworth and its surrounding region. A hospital of choice that understands the healthcare needs of the local people; a healthcare provider that everyone can afford to turn of for quality and safe treatment in a comfortable, homey environment; a place where lives are celebrated with hopes and aspirations.In 2013, we celebrated our 25th anniversary with a more daring vision and a renewed mission.We continue to envision to be the hospital of choice for affordable quality healthcare for the people in mainland Penang and the Northern region. We commit to provide affordable quality healthcare, by wholeheartedly offering caring and comprehensive services at reasonable cost.Our motto is “Service with a Heart”, from the whole Bagan Specialist Centre family, staff and doctors at every touch point patient journey…We have embarked on a exciting journey to build a brand new building and refurbishment of the existing facilities to accommodate 330 inpatient beds, 9 operation theatres, 8 labour suites, 70 clinics and even wider range of specialist consultants. This is expected to be completed by end of 2018, where we will celebrate our 30th anniversary, equipping us to serve our local community even better than ever before.The journey continues with much more to serve with a heart…
