What’s it like working at Faber-Castell?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Faber-Castell appreciate the opportunities to learn and grow, either through exploring their strengths or being exposed to different aspects of the business. The colleagues, particularly in departments like graphic design, are described as friendly and helpful, fostering a non-competitive environment. Employees also enjoy benefits such as being able to take a reasonable amount of stationery for personal use and receiving leftover products as freebies. The work environment is described as non-pressure-inducing, with a focus on stability rather than constant challenges.

However, there are some potential challenges to consider. There is an expectation that interns and employees may need to take on tasks outside their scope, such as physical labour. The company has a hierarchical structure where employees are expected to interact differently with people at different levels. Employees have also noted that taking leave, even during the pandemic, is discouraged unless it is for very serious cases. Additionally, during peak seasons, some employees have found the workload to be overwhelming and difficult to manage within the available time.

A family gathering where you hope your older relatives don't order you around
The good things- Explorable tasks = You are encouraged to explore your strengths here, even if it is not exactly what you do. - Friendly coworkers (esp. graphic design department) = Non-competitive and helpful nature. If you want work stability, this is the place for you. - Freebies & small rewards = You undoubtedly can take (a reasonable amount) stationeries you require for usage and you get leftover products. - Non-pressure-inducing environment = Life is pretty stagnant here. You don't really face much challenges except for deadlines, the occasional miscommunication etc.
The challenges- You do what you have to do = If you're an intern, they expect you to do whatever even if it isn't your scope. Eg: physical labour at times. - Very hierarchy-based = Only talk to certain people. Do not talk too friendly with the Managing Director even if the MD is friendly. - Leaves & MCs should be taken only in very serious cases, even in this pandemic situation.
