KOPUTRA's membership was established on 3rd March 1986. KOPUTRA's membership comprises employees of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad, CIMB Bank Berhad, KOPUTRA employees, former employees of Bank Bumiputera Malaysia Berhad and spouses (spouses) and children KOPUTRA members who are 18 years old and above.The purpose of the establishment of KOPUTRA is to advance the socio-economic interests of its members through cooperative principles by encouraging savings, saving and cooperating through fellow members and helping each other.The total membership of KOPUTRA as of December 31, 2016 is 5,188. All business activities of KOPUTRA are Islamic Shariah-based in accordance with the provisions of KOPUTRA's by-laws.
