The Forest label is owned by Target Fashion Sdn. Bhd. which was incorporated in February 1980. The company immediately commenced operations as garment manufacturer in its rented shophouse in Taman Maluri, Kuala Lumpur. The company initially manufactured men’s clothing and produced the goods as and when the orders were received from its customers. After the recession in 1985, the company decided to manufacture and trade in unisex sports and casual wear. It also expanded its target market to include all ages and launched its own house brand Forest. Following the success of the launch, Forest products were then distributed to various departmental stores and shopping complexes. The company’s business grew mainly through consignment sales and outright sales to major customers. In 1997, to accommodate the company’s steady expansion, Target Fashion shifted it s operation to its own office cum warehouse in Desa Tun Razak Industrial Park, Kuala Lumpur. It is from this location that all Forest products are manufactured and distributed to its network of departmental stores and shopping complexes.

The good thingsGiving a chance to learn new things
The challengesA family business and micro-management approach, reminiscent of old-school thinking, may lead to considering that no benefits are provided by this company. Company that never values or appreciate your efforts and hard work, management think they have paid you for work. Moreover, HR Team not helpful, they just follow instructions from the management not helping the staff at all. They set a lot of rules, treating you like a sch

    Super micromanagement!
The good thingsAverage salary and they do provide bonuses.
The challengesMicromanagement: all the managers are family relatives. They like to control everything; for example, you cannot go out for lunch and must stay in the office for lunch, you must state a clear reason and proof when you apply for annual leave. (Ask me to take a photo on my trip to show as proof.)
