UNICEF is a leading humanitarian and development agency working globally for the rights of every child. Child rights begin with safe shelter, nutrition, protection from disaster and conflict and traverse the life cycle: pre-natal care for healthy births, clean water and sanitation, health care and education.UNICEF has spent nearly 70 years working to improve the lives of children and their families. Working with and for children through adolescence and into adulthood requires a global presence whose goal is to produce results and monitor their effects. UNICEF also lobbies and partners with leaders, thinkers and policy makers to help all children realize their rights—especially the most disadvantaged.

What’s it like working at UNICEF?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at UNICEF find their work meaningful as they are helping people and fundraising for children's welfare on a global scale. They appreciate the positive work culture with good co-workers and managers, and the opportunity to enhance their skills, particularly in communication and fundraising. UNICEF also provides travel opportunities, including road trips and events.

However, some potential challenges include a feeling that the basic salary could be higher, inconsistencies in scheduling with rosters being updated at the last minute and abrupt team changes, the job not being suitable for those who dislike working outdoors due to street and event fundraising, and the physically tiring nature of road trips and events.
