Wear Safe (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (WSM) was acquired by KOSSAN in 2003. WSM started its operation in Port Klang with 5 dipping latex surgical glove lines. In year 2007, WSM was relocated to new plant at Jalan Meru, Klang with a centralized sterile packing location and enhanced production lines of a capacity of 8 million pairs of surgical gloves per month.With a growing market demand, KOSSAN has invested another WSM plant in Jalan Meru in year 2013. The plant was commissioned with 9 new production lines with a monthly capacity of more than 31.5 million pairs of surgical gloves . The plant has obtained ISO 9001:2008, EN ISO 13485:2012 Quality Management System (QMS) and CMDR and ISO Class 8 in 2013.As at today, there are more than 400 well-trained employees in WSM. With the advent of Information Technology, KOSSAN has embrace and employed new technologies to cultivate a knowledge-based workforce and to promote better communications with all relevant parties.KOSSAN also believes in introducing a right mix of work and play in the organisation. The good thingsStaff below were generally cooperative and supportive in execution of daily operations plan.
The challenges1. HR dept role in assisting the plant operation teams in handling disciplinary issues was very poor.
2. The higher ranking personnel e.g the GM can made changes to production processes at his whims and fancy under the boss directive after office hours when the Managers in charge had left. No proper change protocol is followed.
3. Be careful not to offend any of the boss's family related personnel. Lack of professionalism in dealing with work matters.
