What's it like to be a Science Teacher?
A Science Teacher is an educator that helps students learn about science in a formal educational institution. The role allows them to be able to teach students science as part of their curriculum from primary up to university levels of education. The job also includes other school responsibilities such as managing a classroom and a school laboratory, conducting exams for students, creating and updating student grades, and developing an updated lesson plan accordingly.Tasks and duties

How to become a Science Teacher
Starting a career as a Science Teacher in Malaysia requires certain specific educational requirements to be met. This means that you must complete government eligibility requirements to be able to teach.
- 1.Complete an education degree. Following this path offered by the Ministry of Education's Institute for Teaching Education (ITE) typically takes four to five years to finish and includes taking Program Ijazah Sarjana Muda Perguruan (PISMP). This allows you to be eligible to teach general science subjects in primary schools.
- 2.Some schools require written and spoken proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English as a medium of instruction. This is part of the Dual Language Program (DLP) set by the Ministry of Education as part of the standard curriculum under the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).
- 3.To become successful in this job, taking up in-service teaching programs conducted by the Ministry of Higher Education will upskill your knowledge in science with updated concepts that will help expand your teaching capabilities with students.
