    MALAYAN ELECTRO-CHEMICAL INDUSTRY CO., SDN. BHD. (MECI) is one of the traders of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resins and PVC compounds in Malaysia. We import high quality materials for distribution locally to manufacturers of PVC products such as electrical cables, light fittings, pipes and accessories, door and window profiles, packaging materials and consumer products. MECI holds strongly to quality, teamwork and believes that continuous learning and innovation are keys to achieve good results and company objectives, mission and our vision to be “The Preferred Choice for Supplies of PVC and Related Products”.MECI is a long-established subsidiary company of NCG Group Sdn. Bhd. (NCG). NCG with its head office located in Taiping, Perak which owns several subsidiary companies with diversified business venture, namely manufacturing & trading of polymers and engineering plastics; plantation (oil palm & rubber); property investment, development & investment holding; food & beverages; finance & insurance and others. Business focus of NCG Group of Companies is mainly in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and China.MECI is established in 1963 and started it business operation in 1973. Prior to year 2018, besides involving in manufacturing of PVC resins and PVC compounds, MECI also deals with the purchase and sales of PVC resins. MECI however has decided to cease its manufacturing arm in year 2018 and focus only on the purchase and sales of PVC resins and PVC compounds to minimize its business risks resulted by volatile pricing, uncertain supply of raw material (i.e. Vinyl Chloride Monomer gas) and no economy of scale to compete with producers in neighbouring countries.Today, MECI is proud to be one of the major suppliers of PVC resins and PVC compounds to manufacturers of PVC products in Malaysia. Despite the volatility of PVC market, MECI has weathered through the challenges and stand firm among the other competitors. MECI owes its success to its vast experience in the polymer market and a team of experience employees.

    The good thingsSince working here, I have enjoyed some social events organised by the company recreational club such as Family Day, Chinese New Year and Hari Raya Aidilfitri functions. The employees are friendly, especially those from the technicians grade and lower. The General Manager is a firm person and has a clear vision for the company. Although he was strict, speaking to him in person, he is very nice.
    The challengesThe challenges I have faced since working here is that, I been misquoted several times by individuals with malicious intentions . People talking behind my back. I have also encountered tantrums caused by by subordinate, because he much senior than me, however I see as challenge for me to overcome it in the future.
