SEM concentrates on magnet-processing, surface treatment (Nickel-Plating), assembling of Voice Coil Motors, magnetising and inspection. These processes are carried out in close communication with the worldwide network of the Shin-Etsu magnet group and also its research facilities.Shin-Etsu has established a worldwide network for sales, production and technical service in North America, Europe, South-East Asia and other countries to meet the needs of customers in regions around the globe timely and accurately.In the Shin-Etsu Magnets group, the production of Rare Earth Magnets and VCMs are centred in Shin-Etsu (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. and Shin-Etsu Chemical’s Takefu Plant in Fukui, Japan. The Magnet Dept. of Shin-Etsu Chemical Co. Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, and Shin-Etsu Singapore Pte. Ltd., are sales offices, and Shin-Etsu Magnetics Inc. in San Jose, the technical support centre, all play important roles in the Magnet Network.
