Nowadays whenever I see people looking for jobs, they all want WFH/hybrid, near public transport, 9am-6pm and working mondays to fridays only. Why you all taknak masuk office? And why you don't want to work overtime/weekends? As someone who is asking for jobs, shouldn't you be more flexible?

Being flexible doesn’t mean accepting unhealthy work cultures. Do you even see the traffic jam nowadays?? SUPER TERRIBLE!! 2-4 hours on the road only. Not productive at all! A job should fit into life, not consume it. The PKP PKPP PKKKPPP already proved many roles can function well remotely, so it’s reasonable for candidates to ask for what works best.

Reasons are:
1. Spending more family time bonding
2. Get enough rest, offload mental load
3. Personal time and growth.
4. Not worth time spent for company if compensation is too low to no compensation

Do you have a family? Do you love them and want to be with them?
Do you realize everyone is growing older, and we are wasting our time on unnecessary things just to be with our love ones?
We still got our own life.

Sebab jammed sis. Traffic terrible. Dekat office dah 9 jam. Nak pergi office at least sejam setengah. Balik office sejam setengah. Dah 3 jam atas jalan je. Balik nak masak nak kemas rumah mana ada anak nak urus anak lagi. Nak spend masa dengan family pun terkejar-kejar. Benefit company pula tak banyak nak compensate penat-penat tu.

I am working remotely. it is productive and we can spend quality time with family while working. remote work really give us a balance job satisfaction at least we no need rush to wake up in the early morning and trap in traffic clock in to welcome a day

Both employers and employees have equal rights to express their needs. There are many flexible employees who can support extra hours, and it is up to their interest and availability.

Not everyone is eligible for OT pay. If your salary is above RM4k, OT is optional and most company will exchange with replacement leave or time-off instead. Employees prefer OT pay more than time-off or replacement leave (and not all companies have replacement leave encashment benefit).

Why I feel like this is someone from a company's management hierarchy and not an employee.

When i still bujang, okay to work overtime, stay up at office until night. But after i married, have a wife and kids, morning always busy managing kids to send to kindergarten. Evening need to go back pickup kids from the kindergarten. Peak hours morning and evening always traffic jam. Night is the only family time left for the day. Not to mention when kids have fever cannot go to kindergarten, who want to take care for the kids? These are the issues nowadays that employees want the flexibility.
