Software Developer (Graduate Trainee)
Kalau time interview, boss tu dah cakap yang dia mencari someone yang tahan kena maki dan tak mudah koyak, apa perasaan korang? Nak dijadikan cerita, aku dapat job tu. Boss tu suka skills yg aku ada tapi dia nego gaji. Kurang RM300. Dah la tak dapat ape yg aku nak, kena get ready nak hadap toxic environment pulak. Aku belum bagi jwpn sebab aku suka company tu dan aku tahu mmg boleh kutip byk pengalaman. Tapi bab gaji & environment ni buat aku fikir 2x. Kalau korang jadi aku, korang accept tak?

Kalau abang tanya sy, sy tolak kot., Gaji kurang RM300 dah red flag dah sebab byk gak tu kurang pastu kena hadap boss yang suka maki. Stress nanti. Pengalaman penting, tapi jangan sampai mental health terjejas. Ini prinsip saya pegang sbb sy nk kerja happy2, tak suka stress2. Kalau stress pun, biar padan la dgn gaji.

I used to think the same macam ni which is take the job for the experience. But when the pay is low and the environment is toxic, burnout comes fast. Maybe you can try negotiating a probation review after a few months? But if the boss is already openly toxic, it’s a big red flag. Don’t settle. There are better places out there.

Skill memang penting tapi respect dan treatment pun kena ada. Kalau gaji kurang RM300 dan bos toxic, dua benda ni memang boleh effect performance dan growth kau. For me, aku timbang dulu pengalaman dapat ke stress tu, sebab kadang better tunggu peluang yang appreciate our skill dan can jaga our mental health.

Customer Service Role
Encik, sy dapat kerja dengan gaji yg 1x ganda tinggi. Bidang yg sama tapi lebih busy dan sepatutnya saya ganti tempat senior tu sbb dia akan naik ke position lain. The problem is, sy kena verbally n emotionally abuse by that senior. Ni bukan pasal sy tak tahan dgn workload atau tak tahan jumpa org, tapi sebab layanan dari colleuge yg most of them agak toxic. end up sy notice 24 hrs dan sy dapat anxiety n many other problem lain. Sy bukan muda lg nak buat perangai 'tak tahan dgn kerja'..

Kalau aku, aku cuba tanya pasal probation dan review gaji lepas beberapa bulan. Kadang bos tu boleh berubah kalau dia nampak kita serius. Tapi kalau memang toxic sampai ke tulang, better cari kerja lain je. Experience tu penting tapi bukan sampai diri sendiri down.
