Hi everyone! Just wanted to ask is it possible to switch from a retail job to an office job? I’ve been working in retail for a while now and I’m starting to feel like I want a change. I’m interested in trying something more office-based, maybe admin or support roles. Has anyone here made that kind of move before? Would love to hear your experience or any tips you can share. Appreciate any advice!

Definetely! I started from a chain store then the store manager helped me to apply for a headoffice-based role since there was an opening for a much suitable position with my qualification.

Absolutely possible! Retail gives you strong soft skills that many office jobs value especially in admin or customer support. Start by learning basic office tools like Excel or Google Workspace if you haven’t already and consider applying to roles like receptionist, data entry or operations assistant

Been there done that! I work in Retail industry since I was 18 y/o until 24 y/o. After that I moved to an office based job and now turning 28 y/o where I have more life balanced works 9-5,sat-sun off. Of course my salary from retail is higher than office job. I begin my office job salary only 1.5k (since no experience in office) And now earning 4k with 2x job hopping for office based company 😉
