I’ve been working in customer service for 3 years now in the same company, and I’m starting to feel a bit stuck with my salary. It feels like I’m doing the same work as when I first started, but my pay hasn’t really gone up much. I’ve tried bringing it up during reviews, but nothing seems to change. Is it normal for salary growth to be slow in customer service roles? How do you guys manage expectations around salary in this field, and how can I push for a fair increase?

Customer service can be tough when it feels like you’re stuck in the same spot, especially with salary. It’s normal for growth to be slow in this field, but that doesn’t mean you should just settle. If you’ve brought it up before and nothing’s changed, maybe try asking for a clear roadmap of what you can do to earn a raise. Like, specific goals or achievements to hit? If they’re not budging, it might be time to see if there’s somewhere else that values your experience more.

Salary growth in customer service can definitely feel like it’s crawling, especially if there’s no clear path to move up. One thing I’d suggest is making sure you're documenting all the extra things you're doing, even if it’s just handling tricky situations or consistently hitting targets. That way, when you do bring up your salary, you have more to back up your case.
