I believe JS should consider revising the policy and approach this matter more meticulously, especially when representing the company in job advertisements. There is a significant difference between telesales and customer service. Customer service is not telesales, telemarketing, or any “tele” role that focuses on inbound or outbound calls purely for upselling, cross-selling, or sales targets. True customer service is about handling people, assisting with inquiries, resolving issues,& escalate.

True customer service is about handling people, assisting with inquiries, resolving issues, and escalating matters when necessary. While it's true that some customer service roles are encouraged to upsell at the end of a call due to KPI requirements, this does not redefine the core function of customer service. It’s important to recognize the distinction to set the right expectations for both candidates and hiring managers.
