Marketing Data Analyst
I’ve been working in data analytics for a while now, and honestly, the biggest challenge isn’t the data itself—it’s getting people to actually use it. I spend hours building dashboards and generating insights, but half the time, stakeholders don’t even look at them or stick to gut feelings instead. It’s frustrating because the data could really help drive decisions. Anyone else in analytics feel like their work is overlooked? How do you get people to trust the data?

This is a very common scenario. I do not know your exact situation, but it helps if you pull out those dashboards often if there is some kind of presentation to the team or management, rather than putting the data directly on slides. Also set up mini sessions to show how those dashboards can help them in their decision making, and what available data are there for them to use. Most people that are not in STEM are data illiterate. They have to be shown how to read charts.
