For those working in an MNC, what do they actually look for in a candidate? I’ve been trying to break into a MNC because, let’s be real guys!! The pay, benefits, and career growth seem way better than local companies. But the competition is insane! I’ve applied a few times, but either I get no response, or I don’t make it past the 1st stage. Do MNCs prefer overseas graduates, or is it more about experience and skills? Are there specific certifications that can help?

MNCs memang tough to crack sebab the competition is tough. They’re usually looking for someone with the right skills and experience, but they also care about whether you’ll fit into their work culture. It’s not always about overseas grads, more about what you bring to the table. Certifications like PMP or IT stuff can definitely help, but honestly, make sure your experience shines in your CV too. Keep trying, and tweak your applications to suit each role!

MNCs biasanya cari people with solid skills and experience, but they also want someone who can adapt to their work culture (especially if it’s a global team). Overseas grads can have an edge, but honestly, your experience and skills are what matter most. If you’ve got certifications like PMP or anything tech-related, that’ll definitely help! Just keep applying and don’t get discouraged if you don’t get through the first round."

Read related industry job descriptions. Then you will have an idea of their needs. Align your skills and competences accordingly and then work on obtaining exposure in those areas. Certifications are proof you have a skill in a particular area. Excel in it and then apply. Most organisations, except for entry level positions, would want recruits to straight away assume positions within a week or two. Good Luck.

Yeah, breaking into MNCs can be a bit of a hustle. They look for a solid mix of skills, experience, and being a good fit for their team. Certifications can help, but they’re more interested in what you’ve done and how you can contribute. So, even if you’re not an overseas grad, just focus on showing how your skills match what they need. Keep trying, you’ll get there eventually!
