Retail Sales Associate
Haritu, I went for a job interview that honestly made me rasa quite stupid. The role was advertised with a salary of RM2,500, but during the interview, they told me the actual offer was only RM1,800 sebab I supposedly don’t have the “right certifications.” tapi what made it more confusing was that my degree is literally in the field they were looking for. Normal ke macam ni?

RM2500 iklan tapi offer RM1800 memang rasa macam bait je honestly 😭 Degree dah related pun still downgrade salary macam tu memang frustrating.

Jangan rasa diri tu tak cukup bagus sebab benda ni more to company issue sebenarnya. Kadang diorang letak higher salary just nak tarik candidates datang interview.

Kalau certification tu memang requirement penting, sepatutnya company mention awal-awal dekat job post. Bukan masa interview baru tukar cerita.

Degree in the same field should already count for something. Maybe they memang nak cari cheap labour tapi balut guna alasan “lack of cert”

Interview macam ni memang buat overthink, tapi at least sekarang you tahu red flag company tu awal-awal. Better daripada masuk kerja nanti lagi banyak benda you discover

Normal? Sadly yes, banyak company buat macam ni sekarang. Tapi tak bermaksud you kena accept undervalue yourself juga.
