Senior Executive
I’m a senior exec with over 7 years’ experience. A recruiter reached out recently, saying I’d be a great fit for a role they were urgently hiring for. I went through the interview, submitted all my payslips, clearly stated my salary expectations. I PASSED the interview and then got offered LESS than what I’m currently earning. HR said there might be an increment after probation. I feel so insulted. Why even proceed if you knew my current salary? Are recruiters just trying their luck nowadays?

Sadly, some recruiters just hope candidates will settle. But for a senior exec role, that’s just insulting.

"Increment after probation" always feels like a gamble. If they couldn’t meet your expectations now, why would they later?

You gave them all the info, passed the interview, and still got offered less? That’s not right. They clearly weren’t serious.

Happens way too often these days. They get you through the whole process just to lowball at the end. Super disrespectful.

That’s honestly frustrating. You were transparent from the start—offering less after everything feels like such a waste of time.
