Hello! Just doing a harmless survey, before deciding on whether to learn Mandarin or not.
How useful is Mandarin at your workplace? I keep hearing that it’s a huge advantage, especially in client-facing roles and MNCs dealing with China, but is it really that crucial? Some job listings even list it as ‘mandatory.’ For those who can speak Mandarin, does it actually give you better career opportunities or higher pay? And for those who don’t, have you ever felt disadvantaged because of it?

Mandarin is definitely an advantage, especially if you’re in a company dealing with clients or partners from China, or if you’re in sectors like finance, manufacturing, or retail. Personally, I’ve found that being able to speak Mandarin gives me a competitive edge, sometimes even higher pay. But if you’re not working in those areas, it might not be as critical. I wouldn’t say it's mandatory, but it definitely helps!

Mandarin can really make a difference, especially if you’re dealing with Chinese clients or partners. Banyak company yang cari employees yang boleh communicate in Mandarin sebab it opens up more opportunities. For me, speaking Mandarin helped with career growth and sometimes even salary negotiation. But if you're in an industry that doesn’t require it, you might not feel as much pressure to learn it.
