Dulu i belajar Cantonese dari TV je. I watched drama HK, variety show, semua layan. Sekarang I boleh ckp sikit2 tapi masalahnya takde orang nak practise. Kat ofis ada a few colleagues yang cakap Cantonese, tapi macam awkward pulak kalau tiba2 i nak try speaking dengan diorang. Tak nak nampak macam "Hello guyss i pun boleh cakap Cantonese!" Tapi kalau tak start, sampai bila-bila pun tak improve. Macam mana nak approach my friends without nampak mcm try hard sgt?

It’s always a bit awkward when you want to practice but don’t want to seem like you’re forcing it. Maybe you can start small like, try asking simple questions in Cantonese when you’re chatting casually, or just use a word or phrase here and there. People might appreciate that you’re trying to practice, and it could open up a natural conversation without it feeling forced. Plus, they might be more open to helping you out!

To make it less awkward, you could casually mention that you’re learning Cantonese and would love to practice with them when they have the time. That way, it doesn’t feel like you’re putting pressure on them or yourself. You can even make a fun challenge of it, like 'Hey, I’m trying to improve my Cantonese, feel free to correct me!' That way, it feels more like a collaborative effort.
