Account Executive
I'm 26, broke and jobless 😢. I earned RM3,200 as Account Executive but got laid off by SME company after 14 days probation period as manager said I am "useless" for making a few mistakes to our clients. My parents said I'm a fool and my friends never had this issue. It taking me a lot of courage to share this and I need some help and direction😢 I applied to many companies and now a small company offered Account Assistant for RM2,500, lower than my previous company, but should I take it?

SHOCKING how harsh your boss and parents😡…but bro kita sama - I di buang kerja 21/5/2022, 1 week before confirmation. Just remember never compare your life with peers and parent expectation. It's raising you up for better everytime you fail and you will succeed eventually

I’ve gone through so many failures from a young age - failing SPM subjects, fail uni subjects, failed driving test, failed relationships, failed doing my own business when I was around your age. It’s very depressing, but what I did is surround myself with a good support system, including friends and career mentors that you can trust to help you, since your family doesn’t really sound supportive. From your desc, I think if you are truly broke, just take it for now if no other offers coming in

If you really2 need money right now to survive, just take it first. If you can wait, have some savings, then find a better one that suits your expectation. Learn from the past experience, chin up, and start new! Dont look back. You got this bro!!

Bro 🥲 just take the offer. It might be a low offer, but it’s better than having to face a toxic environment. Prioritize your mental health first.

Don't let others knock your confidence, including your family. Bad things happen, move on. If you really don't want 2.5k then be assertive and ask for 3k, see what happens. They offered for you, you got a good chance. Good luck!

I'm sorry that happened to you. New people are expected to make mistakes, but depending on the nature of work, mistakes could cost the business everything or nothing. Myb the boss had too much at stake in that moment. However, I wouldn't take the lower offer, simply bcs I'd know what the role is worth & the workload that'd come with it. Mistakes could be corrected, you could be a better person. Don't downgrade your value bcs of the mistakes that you did. Learn from it & improve 🙂

Sometimes right, you have to reflect on the feedback or criticism and see if there's truth to it. Like, your manager saying 'you're useless' - it's harsh, but did you ask why? Same deal with your mom; ask for specifics to improve. As for that RM2.5k new role, why not give it a shot? But also, find out about the job scopes and company vibe to dodge a repeat of issues. Just my 2 cents. Best of luck! You got this! 💪

as an HR, I would advice you to file your case at JTK under unfair dismissal n do claim your EIS under Perkeso for Loss of Employment. Just walk in to your nearest JTK & Perkeso, they would be happy to assist you.

Nevermind, put aside all badmouthed comments. Have a clear vision that now you’re BROKE. Accept any job first, take the experience & change a new job when you’re stable.
